Iron Horse was located immediately east of Laurel Canyon on Ventura Boulevard, in Studio City. It is now the home of Black Market Liquor. I personally do not recall Iron Horse. The drive through awning that still exists on this site indicates Iron Horse was a fancy restaurant. Locals told me it was. However, they also told me it was closer to the Sportsman’s Lodge in the approximate location of Piken’s shopping center with Subway and a gym.

The building at 11915 Ventura was constructed in 1941 and significantly remodeled in 1945. Given the proximity to Republic Studios (now CBS) it would be interesting to know who lunched at the Iron Horse. I believe these matches are from the mid to late 1960s.
